Tired of big crews, sitting on the rail, 9 knots SOG or mushing around the course in outdated heavy multihull designs? Take note… The Swedish 30’ thoroughbred carbon fibre trimaran will make its first appearance in UK waters during this years Weymouth Speed Week where it will be fired down the famous course by a host of very fast sailors. Sitting static on a dock at some boat show just won’t do it justice. This performance orientated, yet versatile rocket ship has done nothing but impress since its launch earlier this year... It has been designed by Marc Lombard and built by Marstrom Composites of Sweden using pre-impregnated carbon fibre in an autoclave. It’s about time the proven good guys put a cat (or tri in this case) amongst the pigeons in this sector. Let’s see… 50’ rotating, carbon wing mast dressed in 3DL up top with sleeping for four and 174cm headroom down below. True offshore capability makes it eligible for next years double handed Round-Britain and Ireland race, the Fastnet or even the OSTAR. There are already ten built for one design, class racing with build quality that will command a high resale value. With an all up race weight of only 750Kg, the Seacart is not only super quick around the course, you can demount it and tow it home behind a medium sized car. So how quick is it? Let’s cut the crap and find out. All interested parties and media Who want to go for a blast down the Weymouth Speed course and see for themselves should contact Helena Darvelid and get onboard.
